Context
Shifu Foundation kept changing who it was for while it found its footing. Patrons first, then young Indians, then founders. Every change meant new pages, a new feel, sometimes a different audience entirely. The site had to absorb all of it and never look like it was under construction.
The challenge
Sixteen or more full rebuilds, and none of that churn could show. Rebuilding a page a few times is normal. Rebuilding the whole site for a different audience, over and over for months, is a stamina problem as much as a design one.
What I did
- It is built end to end with AI, including every small interaction and every state, so the whole site stays consistent no matter how much of it gets replaced.
- The positioning was moving almost every week, so speed was the whole game. Building this way made a full rebuild cheap enough that changing direction stopped being costly.
- At the center of it is the Ecosystem: a map of India's founder ecosystem you can filter and search, from the country down to a single district. I learned how GeoJSON works to build it.
- None of the repositioning shows in what shipped. That was the job.
